Habakkuk Music announced today that Lisa’s song, ” I Want To Say Thank You” ,written by her husband Pastor Michael Brooks, off her latest release, “Strong” went to #1 on Billboard Gospel’s Singles Charts. Her soul-stirring duet with VaShawn Mitchell on “His Blood Still Works” off Mitchell’s latest release, “Triumphant” is creating a buzz as the song is slated to to be the next single off VaShawn’s album. This will mark Habakkuk Music’s first Number 1 single placement on Billboard and now moves Marvin Sapp’s single, “The Best In Me” to the number 2 spot after spending 25 weeks at #1.

Chock full of Gospel artists, the Mississippi Stone Soul Picnic will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2010 (Labor Day weekend) at Winner’s Circle Park in Flowood, MS. The “Free Christian Family” concert (3 – 8 pm) will feature performances by the biggest names in the world of Gospel and Christian music including The Mississippi Mass Choir, Dorothy Norwood, The Canton Spirituals, The Christian Angels, The Joy Boys, Darrell Luster , Benjamin Cone III & Worship, DA Minista, Billy Rivers & The Angelic Voices, Kevin Davidson & The Voices, and many more. Thousands are expected to attend.
The NFL PLAYERS Choir will pay a patriotic tribute to America at XLV Countdown Live From Cowboys Stadium, Friday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. CST in Arlington, Texas. This event promises to be an exciting night of music, and will feature country music star Tim McGraw and a rare performance by classical pianist and North Texas native Van Cliburn.
This has truly been a breakout year for Kim Burrell! Show stopping performances on major network specials, new album in the works, and a totally new look. Well now, she’s adding “Pastor” to that list of accomplishments for 2010. Kim recently announced that she is the new Pastor of Love and Liberty Fellowship in Greenspoint, TX. The church will be celebrating its grand pre-opening September 4, 2010 at 8 p.m.
Grammy Award Nominated Producer and Songwriter Stan Jones is celebrating the success of his song “All I Need”. “All I Need” is featured on Brian Courtney Wilson’s debut project, “Just Love”, and is celebrating 72 weeks on Billboard charts. More than half of that time the song was featured in the Top 10 and has climbed back to #6. Brian Courtney Wilson is Music World’s Gospel’s new artist. Both Wilson and Jones both have been busy touring, writing, and producing. Stan recently won 5 Mississippi Music Awards for his work with The Canton Spirituals.
The Albertina Walker Scholarship Foundation presents the Queen of Gospel, Dr. Albertina Walker and Friends in a gospel extravaganza on Monday, August 30th at the New Covenant Baptist Church in Chicago. Joining in the celebration this year is the First Lady of Gospel, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Harvey Watkins of the Canton Spirituals, Chicago choirs – Malcolm Williams and the Voices of Great Faith and Percy Gray and Joshua’s Troop and other surprise guests. Hosting the evening’s festivities is the Ambassador of Gospel, Dr. Bobby Jones and International Gospel Music Consultant and Radio Personality Pam Morris.
