JJ Hairston is headed t
o radio; this time as the host of “Sunday Praise with J.J. Hairston” on Hot 93.7 FM (WZMX).
Hairston notes “it’s a huge opportunity to spread the gospel,” It’s a Hip-Hop station! This is the first time this station has had gospel music on their station. So the fact that they’re entrusting me as the host and that they’re trying gospel music is huge! Many of the listeners don’t go to church so this program may be introducing many of them to the gospel for the first time and hopefully, eventually, to Christ.”
Sunday Praise will air from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. every Sunday beginning March 30th. Be sure to look for JJ and the Youthful Praise ensemble on the BET Celebration of Gospel airing on April 6th as well as the release of their new single It Pushed Me hitting radio in April.

It took singer/songwriter and worship leader Jackie Gouche ten minutes to pen a song inspired by Psalms 121. The song would be featured on the debut project of Purpose, Pastor Beverly Bam Crawford’s church choir. But that was just the beginning. The song would become a staple for Pastor Donnie McClurkin as he sang it during his many concerts in additon to being recorded by Ron Winans and CeCe Winans for his Family and Friends series and by Carol Cymbala and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Today, My Help is a classic and is sung in churches across America and around the globe.
As for Jackie Gouche, you can find her doing what she does best leading worship at Bible Enrichment Fellowship Church International each week. Gouche has authored two books; one being her autobiography and the other a book on true worship. Convinced that God is not through with her yet, Gouche is preparing for the release of her solo CD Big God, Little Me.

Lisa Knowles has proven to be a musical force to be reckoned with but doesn’t like to be categorized. “I’ve always been labeled as one thing,” says Knowles when it comes to defining her style and place “Oh, she’s
just a quartet singer or she’s just a churchy singer, but there are so many layers to me. I’m just showcasing what God gave me. People ask how I categorize myself and I say: I don’t know. I’m just Lisa.”
Knowles and her group, The Brown Singers are ready to make another mark with the release of their latest effort, The Evolution Continues from Zantino Kimmons’ One Voice Media label with distribution from Central South. While the project delivers on traditional quartet, there’s a lot of musical variety in store, including a cover of LaShun Pace’s He’s Able. All in all, its 11 tracks of undeniably great gospel music produced by Marque Walker.
