Erica Campbell and Tasha Cobbs left the Soul Train Awards 2015 crowd standing after rousing renditions of Campbells’ “Little More Jesus” and Cobbs’ “Put A Praise On It”. The masses have spoken and declared its a hit! Losing My Religion, the eleventh album from Gospel superstar Kirk Franklin makes it debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Chart in addition to the number 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Christian/Gospel Albums Chart. The album, released November 13th also made its entry on the Billboard 200 chart at number 10.
Also claiming its place at #1 is Franklin’s lead single from the album Wanna Be Happy? The song, which set a record as Gospel music’s best first week digital single (replacing his last single I Smile from 2011) released in August dons the top spot on the Mediabase Gospel radio chart, Billboard.com’s Hot Gospel Songs and Digital Gospel Songs Charts.
Singer/Songwriter and Master Producer Percy Bady helped to establish the iconic Choir Sound working with the legendary Thompson Community Singers aka the Tommies during the reign of the Choir years. Today, Bady recreates a musical menagerie with God’s Got Me, the first single from How Sweet the Sound winner Dexter Walker and Zion Movement’s live recording captured during this past summer in Chicago. God’s Got Me pairs the energetic choir with the equally energetic Minister Tim White for a rapturous reassurance of God’s abiding presence and constant care.
God’s Got Me is available on digital outlets and look for the full album to be released in 2016.
Karew Records’ recording artist Kierra Sheard enlists help from her brother J Drew Sheard and producer Jor’Dan Armstrong for a new EP entitled Led released to iTunes on Friday November 20th. Sheard had this to say about the release, “My goal is to give listeners a sound that they can take everywhere. I’m hoping to put God in people’s atmosphere and they not even know it until later. It’s something for in the meantime, but it’s fun and creative.”

The BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards have announced it’s honorees for the year and it will no doubt put a premium on what is already one of the most sought after tickets of the year. 2016 marks the year that BMI will celebrate the contributions of two of gospel’s most prolific duos – Bebe and Cece Winans and Mary Mary. The event will take place on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Atlanta’s Rialto Center for the Arts. This is the second year the event has taken place separate from it’s longstanding annual date during Stellar Award weekend. Headed up by BMI’s Catherine Brewton (Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations) the Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards will host gospel music’s premier songwriters, recording artists and music industry executives, as well as the genre’s legends. BMI will also announce the Most Performed Gospel Song of the Year at the ceremony.
Celebrated songwriter Pastor Charles Jenkins and Fellowship Chicago enlists the services of native Chicagoan Michelle Williams and Byron Cage for Holiday Praise: The Thankful Tour visiting select cities across the US before returning to Chicago for a holiday television taping.

On January 19th, Israel Houghton invites fans and music lovers to the theater to take a behind the scenes look at the making of his latest project with the release of the documentary Israel Houghton & NewBreed – Covered: Alive in Asia in select theaters across the United States . The award winning singer/songwriter and producer will also host a special session with celebrity guests at Lakewood Church in Houston.

Husband and wife worship duo Seth and Nirva prepare for their major label debut signing with Integrity Music for a March, 2016 studio release produced by Grammy winning producer and songwriter Israel Houghton. “I’ve been friends with Nirva for many years and have been familiar with hers and Seth’s music for quite a while,” says Integrity Music A&R Director Chico Gonzalez. “I’ve always been impressed by their heart for worship and how they take a crowd from being listeners to participants. No matter what genre they are working in, or artist they’re working with, they worship with their whole hearts and they are passionate about helping others do the same.”
No strangers to the industry, Seth has done background work with a number of artists including Kirk Franklin, Chris Tomlin, Donnie McClurkin and CeCe Winans, while Nirva, a graduate of Fisk University and former member of the prestigious Fisk Jubilee Singers has spent some 10+ years with TobyMac’s Diverse City Band. The couple released an EP I Need You in additon to making a guest appearance on Houghton’s multi artist album Blessed Assurance: The New Hymns of Fanny Crosby.
