Catching Up With Erick Matthews

Thursday, November 19th, 2015

Back in the 90s when choirs reigned supreme, we got to know the music by the individuals who gave them light and life.  Such an individual is Erick Matthews.  Matthews is prominently known for contributing leErick Matthewsad to Let Us Praise and Worship Him from John P Kee’s VIP Mass Choir hit CD Stand.  He would guest on other John P Kee projects including Special Christmas Gift and Strength both with the New Life Community Choir.  His solo debut,  Friend For Always was released in 1997 and he helped out his sister Drea Randle making an appearance on her debut CD Oooh Wee in 1998, followed by the release of his second solo project No Fear In Me which GOSPELflava reviewed here.

Collaborations with Prime Minister, BBJ, MC Hammer and Ben Tankard would lead to additional doors of opportunity being opened as well as the release of a third album Life Captured in 2008.

Today, the singer/songwriter finds himself with added responsibilities including worship leader, author, speaker,  husband and  dad.  Through it all, he still has time to make a statement through his music, releasing a new single entitled Power earlier this summer and makes plans for a full album within the coming months.

Cedric Ballard Presents A Scripture Collage With New Single

Monday, November 9th, 2015

Houston baseCedric Ballardd singer, songwriter and worship leader Cedric Ballard makes a joyful noise with They That Wait, the second single from Transparency, his debut solo CD.  In his own words, he describes the song as a marriage between scripture and music. “They That Wait is a scripture collage.  As we are recipients of the truth that the words we speak have power, I personally feel the best way to counteract the attacks of the enemy is to align ourselves with the power of God’s Word and then to emphatically declare it.  You have got to speak it over and over again until the breakthrough comes, and believe me, change will happen, either God will fit you for the circumstance or He will send deliverance, either way, our orders remain, wait on the Lord, be renewed in strength and power, don’t be weary in well doing, those are keys and faith is the victory.”

Transparency is available on all digital platforms and you can catch Ballard as he takes the Transparency movement message to the masses at concerts and worship encounters in cities across the country.
