Virtue Trio Returns With Testimony Reloaded

Virtue Sep14February 3rd marks the return of the sister trio Virtue with Testimony Reloaded, a reissue of their 2006 studio release.  This edition features two new tracks; You are, the Billboard top 30 radio single and You Deserve, both produced by Grammy Award winner, Fred Jerkins.

A brand new album will hits stores in the Spring.

Jesus Revealed Bows At #1

JasonNelson_JesusRevealedRCA Inspiration and Pastor Jason Nelson celebrate the news of Jesus Revealed, his new CD making its debut at #1 on the Billboard Gospel Albums Chart.  The lead single, I Am is also the #1 song on radio.  “I’m so excited about JESUS Revealed being the #1 CD in the country,” said Jason Nelson. “I always believed it was possible, but experiencing it is amazing. GOD is faithful.”

The Stellar Award winner is currently on the road promoting the CD’s release.

 

Ben Tankard’s Full Tank 2.0 Drops February 10th

Ben Tankard, widely regarded as the “Godfather of Gospel Jazz” offers up a new installment of musical melodies in Full Tank 2.0, the follow up disc to his 2012 Grammy and Stellar nominated Full TanFull Tank 20k project.   The CD is filled with noteworthy music including the lead single, Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand) featuring Kirk Whalum and a cover of the Staple Singers’ classic, I’ll Take You There featuring Shirley Murdock.

Full Tank 2.0 hits stores and digital outlets on February 10th.  Be sure to catch the second season of the Tankard Family Reality Show Thicker Than Water on the Bravo Channel.

Pops Staples’ New (yes, new) Project

Although Roebuck “Pops” Staples, patriarch of the famous Staple Singers, died in 2000, we haven’t heard the last of his recording projects.  On February 17th, Wilco’s dBpm imprint, popsstaplesdontlosethiscdAnti Records, releases Don’t Lose This, the final chapter in Pops Staples’ body of work.  Recorded in 1999, the 10 tracks have been retained by his daughter Mavis Staples, who with producer Jeff Tweedy, put their hands together to bring the album to fruition. The project releases on both CD and LP.

In other Staples news, on March 3rd, Legacy Recordings will be releasing Freedom Highway Complete – Recorded Live at Chicago’s New Nazareth Church, a newly remixed, remastered and expanded edition of the live concert masterpiece recorded by the Staple Singers in April 1965 in support and celebration of that year’s historic civil rights marches from Montgomery to Selma, Alabama.

3’s Up for Rapper Dee-1 On February 17th

Israel Houghton Celebrates God’s Goodness

2015 marks a milestone in the music ministry of award winning worship leader and singer/songwriter Israel Houghton; 15 years of ministry with New Breed and the March release of CoHougton 2015vered, Live in Asia, his 10th album with the group.  Making impact is the current single, How Awesome Is Our God, which is now available on all digital outlets on January 13th and features the inimitable Yolanda Adams.  Houghton shared his joys of the pairing, “Having Yolanda Adams singing with us on this song marks a personal ‘bucket list’ moment for me!”

Houghton will be celebrated at the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Awards Ceremony in Atlanta on January 17th as well as taking part in the 16th Annual Superbowl Gospel Celebration concert series in Phoenix, AZ.  There are plans for a theatrical release of the “Alive in Asia” concert film to theaters in select cities.

Woods is joined by Anthony Hamilton and Dave Hollister on the current radio single Friend of Mine, and the project will also feature music from Avery* Sunshine, P.J. Morton and Larry Waddell & Stokley Williams of the legendary band Mint Condition. Life Lessons hits the streets on February 3rd.
