Dorothy Norwood Music Group has announced a distribution deal with EchoPark/JDI Entertainment and is readying the 52nd solo release of the world’s greatest story teller, Evangelist Dorothy Norwood in October. An Incredible Journey, produced by Norwood and Cedric Thompson features stellar performances from Dorinda Clark Cole, LeJuene Thompson, VaShawn Mitchell and Melvin Williams on the lead single, When the Church Begins to Pray.

There’s a new sound and its coming from the AME Church!!!. While AME LIVE, the first recording from the International AME Church Mass Choir hits digital and retail outlets on August 5th, the celebration has already begun with listening parties and concerts in Nashville, Tennessee and Chicago, Illinois. Over 125 voices from AME Churches across the country participated in the recording of the live CD/DVD held in Chicago last summer. The project is produced by Adrian Dunn and Curtis Lindsey and features guest performances by Myron Butler, Melonie Daniels, Troy Bright.
Prepare yourself for the release of Foreign Land, the new disc from the 3 Winans Brothers on September 30th. Marvin, Carvin and BeBe Winans unveiled the new group offering If God Be For Us last year at the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. The brothers have formed a new label Regimen Records and announced a marketing and distribution deal with Entertainment One. An artist services/publishing deal was signed with BMG earlier this year.
The brothers are also celebrating the video release for their current single, Move In Me, produced by Grammy winning producer Daniel Weatherspoon and remixed by multi-Grammy award winning songwriter/producer, Warryn Campbell.
Bryan Andrew Wilson’s fifth solo CD “The One Percent” makes its debut at the #18 slot on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart. This marks his return to the charts since his 1996 solo CD debut “Bryan’s Songs.” Wilson burst on the scene with his impassioned rendition of His Eye is On the Sparrow with the Mississippi Mass Children’s Choir.
In the late 90s, we were introduced to Otis Battles as the front man for the High Point Community Choir. The choir’s MCG Records debut was co-produced by Hezekiah Walker with music from Rodney Jerkins and a noteworthy vocal performance from Faith Evans (see review here). Battles and the choir received a warm reception and his gift made room for him affording ministry opportunities across the country as well as overseas. Otis Battles sings of hope and brighter days in I Believe, his new single written and produced by Travis Malloy, marking his triumphant return to the recording scene after a ten year hiatus.

On the heels of the celebration of the Pentecostal Community Choir’s 35th Anniversary Celebration and Reunion Concert comes word of a new single from PCC founder and GOSPEL legend, Minister Keith Pringle. Pringle burst into the music scene while accompanying Rev. James Cleveland and the Salem Baptist Church Choir of Omaha, Nebraska. As the choir was singing I Don’t Feel No Ways Tired, Rev. Cleveland uttered the words “sing it for me, Keith”, and Pringle’s singing career was birthed. For the new single, Minister Pringle teams up with noted songwriters V. Michael McKay, Carlton Burgess and producer Garland Miche Waller for The Worst Is Over. The new single has been released to radio and Pringle returns to the studio to work on a full project with a tentative release date for early 2015.
Chanel Haynes of Trin-i-Tee 5:7 launches her solo debut with CD Trin-i-tee 5:7 According To Chanel on June 17th. Chanel continues her collaboration with longtime friend and producer PJ Morton with the lead single Repay, which is gaining airplay at radio. The CD remains true to form featuring the signature sound of Trin-i-tee 5:7, while at the same time casting Chanel in a new light as not just a solo artist, but also as a songwriter and producer.

Houston’s Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church Mass Choir honors the legacy of the late Minister Hanq Neal with the release of I Still Believe, the first single from their CD, Oh To Be Kept By Jesus. Neal served as minister of music for the church for many years and worked untiringly towards the completion of this project celebrating the church’s 50th anniversary. Leon C. Lewis who succeeded Neal wrote and arranged I Still Believe and was tasked with completing the project started by his friend and mentor. “Taking over for Hanq Neal was a bittersweet honor,” Lewis shares, “he prepared me for the journey.”
The mass choir of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church consists of over 200 voices united in praise ministering to the congregation that numbers over 13,000. Senior Pastor Dr. Marcus Cosby has a heart for worship and joins the choir on the disc.
