Mr. Del Announces Revolt Now Tour

Revolt NowMoved by the plight facing youth in the inner city and urban communities, Pastor Delmar Lawrence aka Mr. Del has launched a new initiative called Revolt Now.  The experience combines hip hop music, dance, and the Word of God to engage, empower and encourage young people to receive salvation.  The Revolt Now Tour visited 12 cities during its 2015 run.  This year, Mr. Del gathers his Holy South soldiers and a host of other artists to take the music and message across the nation.  The tour serves as a backdrop for the release of “HOLY SOUTH: REVOLT” which features Boy Wonda, Eddie Jaymes Prodagal, Rashawn Merrick, M.A.D.E. 4 Christ, Mardye McDole, C. Elevation, Emory Anderson, M.A.J.O.R.S., J Crum, Sean Oliviera, B.I.C., Hi- Lite Real and Dem J boyz. 

The CD hits digital retailers on July 4th.

123 Victory Brings Kirk Franklin Another #1 Hit

kirk-franklinGospel Superstar Kirk Franklin gains another #1 with “123 Victory” hitting the top spot on the Mediabase Gospel radio chart.  “123 Victory”is the follow up single to “Wanna Be Happy?” and both come from Losing My Religion, his eleventh studio album.

Franklin has been greeting fans in sold out venues across the country in his  20 years in One Night Tour .  The last leg of the tour visits Alabama, Georgia and Massachusetts before the finale in Baltimore, Maryland at the Lyric Opera House on June 19th.

Bishop Hezekiah Walker Reunites with Love Fellowship Crusade Choir

HezOne thing is for certain, The Kings Theater in Brooklyn,  New York will not be the same after July 23rd.  Bishop Hezekiah Walker brings together the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir for a gigantic reunion concert.  Its sure to be a night to remember the string of hits that made this choir a musical powerhouse for nearly 3 decades.

Its been a very good year for Hez thus far, with a new label deal, the new single hitting #1 on the radio charts, his induction into the GMA Hall of Fame AND the announcement of his addition alongside Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, Karen Clark Sheard, Casey J and Regina Belle for this year’s Festival of Praise tour, things can only get better!

This already looks like one of the highly anticipated events of the 2016 calendar year.

 

Virtue Set To Honor Clark Sisters At Essence Festival

VirtueGoatFarm-39Clark Sisters OLTGRAMMY nominated female group Virtue (Ebony Holland, Karima Kibble, and Heather Martin) will join Yolanda Adams, Travis Greene, Brian Courtney Wilson, Tasha Page Lockhart, Kierra Sheard, Faith Evans and Keke Wyatt in paying tribute to the legendary Clark Sisters at the Essence Festival on July 3rd in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Virtue’s current radio single, Miracle (written by Twinkie Clark and recorded by the Clark Sisters in the 80s) has spent 6 weeks in the top 30 on the Billboard radio chart.  Miracle comes from the group’s seventh studio album, Fearless, which made its debut at #3 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.

Continuing their summer promotional stops, Virtue will appear at Kirk Franklin’s 20 Years In One Night World Tour on Tuesday, June 14 at The Alabama Theatre.

Pastor Dale Sanders Celebrates Release of Termites In The Church

Sanders and Son1Noted pastor, preacher extraodinare and singer Dale J Sanders celebrated the release of Termites in the Church, the book that served as the inspiration behind his Billboard radio hit, You Win on Saturday, May 28th in Kenner, Louisiana at the Triumph Kingdom Builders Missionary Baptist Church pastored by his father, Reverend Leroy Sanders, Sr. The elder Sanders joined Pastor Dale along with members of the Sanders family for the occasion.

Termites in the Church offers a first hand account of Pastor Leroy Sanders service as pastor of a multi-site congregation for some 40 years, then encountering  a false accusation, arrest, trial and  public humiliation by the members of his own congregation. Pastor Dale shares a redeeming message of hope in the midst of tragedy, “what the devil meant for evil, God meant for good.  We are living witnesses that God can turn around any situation and give you a testimony of triumph even in the midst of what seems to be a tumultuous time.”

The Termites promotional tour having made stops across Louisiana and Houston, Texas will make its way to the Midwest before heading for the East Coast this fall.

Fred Hammond Announces Dates For Festival Of Praise

FOP 16Fred Hammond announced the return of the ever popular Festival of Praise Tour, making its way across the country and visiting 2 dozen major cities. “FOP 2016 is going to be off the chain!,” Hammond said, adding, “ The thing I love about this tour is that no matter who you are or where you’ve come from, you’re guaranteed to have a great time, something is surely going to inspire you, and you’re going to want to come back again and again! You definitely don’t want to miss this so don’t be late because we’ve got an incredible show planned from beginning to end!”

This year’s lineup includes Hammond along with Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Israel Houghton, Karen Clark Sheard, Regina Belle and Casey J.  Hammond also announced that his new CD will be released in October to coincide with the release of the FOP tour.

New Mobile App and Tour Dates Announced For Kierra Sheard

Karew Records recording artist Kierra Sheard is banking on girl power to propel her solo tour hitting the road in July.  Sheard took to social media to announce online auditions for her all girl band.  While the band is comprised of girls, Sheard extends an invitation for guys to enjoy the music of the tour.

“I want those thatKierra Kiki Sheard come, to leave feeling refreshed. Transparency, God, love, music, and more is what I’ll have to offer. I’ll have fun on this tour and do things that I’ve never done before. I will not be prohibited or stopped by anyone but God! I won’t worry about what’s said, I’m going for a raw experience! People don’t want fake experiences. They want what’s real. We all want to feel like we aren’t alone while doing this thing called “life,” says Kierra.

In addition, Sheard is excited about the release of her very own mobile app going live on May 12th.

Chicago Gospel Music Festival Welcomes Hezekiah Walker, Shirley Caesar and Travis Greene

Travis Greene 2Chicago, the Gospel music capitol of the world celebrates Gospel music in a big way as it gets in gear for the 31st annual Chicago Gospel Music Festival taking place in downtown Chicago at Millennium Park June 3rd and 4th.  Among the headliners for this year’s fest are Grammy Award winners Bishop Hezekiah Walker and Pastor Shirley Caesar, Grammy nominees Travis Greene and Bryan Courtney Wilson as well as William Murphy and local Chicago favorites Chicago Mass Choir, Kenny Lewis and One Voice, The James  and more.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events will also hosts several Gospel music events around the country including a conversation with Entertainment One VP Phil Thornton and recording artist Lalah Hathaway hosted by Michelle Williams on May 18th and a special Gospel music presentation on July 25th in Millennium Park featuring the Jones Family Singers and the Apostolic Church of God choir.

Donald-Lawrence-2011-2Donald Lawrence returns in the post of music director as McDonalds gears up to celebrate the tenth season of its Inspiration Celebration tour.  The multi city event will cover 13 markets including Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Greensboro, Houston, Jackson, Los Angeles, Memphis, Philadelphia, Raleigh, St. Louis and Washington, D.C. Fans can expect to hear the glorious sounds of the incomparable Karen Clark Sheard, Bishop Marvin Sapp, Jonathan McReynolds, Doug Williams, Canton Jones and Pastor Charles Jenkins.  Lonnie Hunter returns as host this year, complimented by the comedy antics of Christian Comedienne Small Fire.

“This tour has been a staple in the African American community for ten years. It is an honor to be part of this year’s lineup,” said Bishop Marvin Sapp. “Gospel music inspires, uplifts AND empowers like no other music can. Kirk Franklin Celebrates 20 Years of Music, Announces Tour Dates

KirkfranklinpubKirk Franklin is bringing the music and magic to a city near you with his 20 Years in One Night Tour beginning March 15, 2016.  While the tour’s focus is to promote the release of the multi award winning songwriter and producer’s eleventh album Losing My Religion, it will also provide a retrospective of his musical works spanning 2 decades.

Losing My Religion made its debut at #1 on the Billboard Gospel and Christian charts as well as #10 on the Billboard 200.  Franklin was the recipient of a Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Song / Performance for LOSING MY RELIGION’S #1 single, “Wanna Be Happy?”. (more…)
