Darwin Hobbs To Appear On OWN

Darwin Hobbs first appeared on “The Oprah Show” during its historic final season. Hobbs, a guest on a poignant show about child sex abuse, bravely shared his testimony as an abuse survivor. Now, Hobbs and wife Traci will appear on the update show, OWN’s “Oprah: Where Are They Now,” this Saturday, May 23rd at 10pm EST.

The show will update viewers on Darwin’s courageous journey to freedom from shame, guilt, and tragedy of abuse. Additionally, the episode will also feature Darwin and Traci’s weight loss story. They lost a combined 250 pounds with the help of weight loss surgery and lifestyle changes.

In an awesome twist, Darwin and Traci share their proudest update their first baby girl, Bethany Lennox Grace, born in May 2014.

After 18 years as a major label artist and a 5 year hiatus, Darwin returned to the recording studio, and this summer will release his hit single “God Has Remembered,” a song inspired by the miracle of Bethany. A full album is also planned for an Early Spring 2016 release on the couple’s new indy label Heart Art Music.

 

Final Season Of Bobby Jones Gospel Announced

After 34 Bobby Moses Twinkie Kirkuplifting seasons, BET announced the final season of Bobby Jones Gospel,  the longest-continuously-running original cable TV show will tape this summer.  Bobby Jones Gospel has brought great gospel singers and music into the homes of millions each week and a special season is planned as the gospel community comes to bid farewell.

David and Tamela Talk Love and Happiness on The Real

Fresh from her White House performance for the President and First Lady, Tamela Mann talks life,Manns on The Real love and happiness with her husband David Mann when they visit The Real on April 16th.  David and Tamela are also enjoying the success of the debut of their new sitcom Mann and Wife on Bounce TV.  The April 7th debut debut of MANN & WIFE became the network’s most-watched original to date, reaching nearly 800,000 viewers.

White House Gospel Music Celebration To Air On PBS and TV One

RanceAllen Bishop Rance Allen, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Tamela Mann and others join Aretha Franklin and the Morgan State University Choir for “The Gospel Tradition: In Performance at the White House”.  The hour long program celebrates the rich history of Gospel music and its impact on other music genres and will air on PBS and TV One on June 26th.

“The gospel tradition, which has its roots in the African-American community, has lifted up so many, promising hope whether through the everyday travails of life or some of our nation’s most turbulent times,” noted Brad Siegel, president of TV One. “We’re proud to be partners with WETA and public broadcasting in celebrating this uniquely American institution at the White House and with the American public.”

BET Sunday Best All Star Show Announced For Season Eight

The ever popular BET Sunday Best program is getting in gear for a very special all star show.  Beginning April 1st through April 15th,  the public will be given a chance to vote Sunday-Best-09_aonline for their favorite contestants from the past 7 seasons, and the top 10 vote getters will be announced via the Season 8 premiere on Sunday, July 19th.

Mann and Wife Comes To Bounce TV

We can’t get enough of David and Tamela Mann! Lucky for us, we are afforded additional TV time with the April 7 series premiere of Mann and Wife on  the david-and-tamela-mannBounce network.

The sitcom pairs David and Tamela in a Brady Bunch format as a newly married couple with children from previous marriages adjusting to their new family life. We can rest assured as in all of the Mann family situations where there is love, there will also be lots of laughter.

Preachers of Detroit Season Premiere Feb 20th

February 20th is the day Oxygen media gives us both front row seats in additon to backstage access as the Preachers franchise makes its way to the motor city of Detroit Michigan.  Seven preachers take part in the Detroit series, Bishop Charles H. Ellis III, Bishop Corletta Vaughn, Pastor Tim Alden, Pastor David Bullock, Bishop-Elect Clarence Langston, Pastor Don William Shelby Jr. and Evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole.  Its sure to be a good ride, so get your motor running and check local listings for time and station information.

NAACP Image Awards Air Tonight! Who will win Outstanding Gospel Album?

naacp-image-awards-logoDonnie McClurkin, Erica Campbell, Michelle Williams, Gladys Knight, and Fred Hammond all are nominated for Outstanding Gospel Album. Each has had a great year in their own right. Erica Campbell stepped into the solo spotlight from her group Mary Mary with her album “Help.” Donnie McClurkin was joined by friends on his “Duets” project. Former Destiny’s Child star, Michelle Williams had everyone singing “Say Yes” (with Beyonce and Kelly) from her “Journey to Freedom” album. Fred Hammond, after his double knee replacement, proved he’s still got it on his CD “I Will Trust.” While the legendary Gladys Knight got back to gospel heritage with her album “Where My Heart Belongs.”

The show will air live tonight 9 PM EST/8 CST on TV One from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, CA.
