Its a changing of the guard as Stellar Awards producer Barbara Wilson passes the baton to Deborah Byrd. Wilson has helmed production efforts for the show since the very first show taped at Chicago’s Arie Crown Theater in 1985. We talked with Barbara Wilson some years back, see our interview here. While taking a step back, Wilson is not going off the scene entirely, she will maintain an active presence with the show as executive consultant.
Both the live and television audiences were wowed at the close of this year’s Celebration of Gospel as Heavenly Joy stole the show with her rousing performance of Charles Jenkins’ #War. (more…)
Viewers are in for more love, life and a whole lot of laughs as BET announced the return of Its a Manns World, the reality series that takes us into the lives of entertainment power couple David and Tamela Mann and their family.
Set to make its second season premiere on February 23rd, Manns World will pick up following the family as they find themselves juggling careers, church and community and family life .
The ever popular Celebration of Gospel makes its triumphant return to the airwaves on Sunday, January 31st. Pastor Shirley Caesar is joined by Anthony Hamilton for the debut of new music in addition to paying tribute to Gospel legend Andrae Crouch who made his transition last year.
The new song, Its Alright, Its Ok is currently available on digital outlets and is penned by Courtney Rumble and Stanley Brown and produced by Stanley Brown. Pastor Caesar spoke of her new music by saying, “It has been more than two years since I have recorded a project so needless to say I am very excited about my new release, ‘It’s Alright, It’s Ok’ that also features Anthony Hamilton. It is my prayer that you will be blessed not only by this song but all the others that will be featured on my upcoming release.”

By all indications, this year’s Celebration of Gospel looks to be the show not to be missed as Tamela Mann delights audiences with the performance of her new single, One Way. Mann performed the song during this year’s festivities which will be airing Sunday, January 31st on BET.
With such hits as Take Me To The King, I Can Only Imagine, Speak Lord, You Deserve My Praise and more, Tamela Mann comes roaring back with One Way hitting digital retail outlets on Friday, January 29th.
Gospel singer/songwriter Deitrick Haddon is counted in the number of gospel artists taking the stage to offer praise at this year’s Celebration of Gospel. Noted Chicago pastor and Inspired People recording artist Charles Jenkins sounds the alarm as he performs a lively rendition of his chart topping hit #WAR on BET’s Celebration of Gospel.
#WAR was recognized by BMI as one of the top ten most performed songs in 2015 and was the lead single for Jenkins’ Any Given Sunday album which has been nominated for 2 Dove Awards nominations and 8 Stellar Award nominations.

Gospel Music Mega Stars Bebe and Cece Winans and Mary Mary were honored in Atlanta at the 2016 BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards. This iconic invitation only event was the talk of the town as it was a night filled with inspirational music, well blended duets, and show stopping surprises. This year BMI wants you to have the best seat in the house. The special is set to air February 19th at 8pm EXCLUSIVELY on TVone. The event was hosted by previous BMI Trailblazer Award winner , Yolanda Adams.
In addition, Ricky Dillard & New G and Tiff Joy were honored with “BMI’s Most Performed Gospel Song Of The Year” Award for their hit single, “Amazing”.
