GOSPELflava pulled out all the stops and called in our A Game, (our roving reporter Andre Griffith) to cover the sights and sounds at this year’s Super Bowl GOSPEL Celebration. Andre got in a few minutes with Melanie Few and AJ Callaway. Here’s a sample of their conversations:
Long before Gospel Music Channel and Bobby Jones Gospel, there was a show originating out of Chicago Illinois that brought GOSPEL MUSIC into the homes of tv viewers each Sunday morning. You can now have a piece of Gospel Music history with the release of the Jubilee Showcase DVD Collectors Edition

PBS has been airing an hour-long special on the groundbreaking series celebrating its 50 years since late November 2013. Scores of artists and personalities appeared on the show over the years, ranging from James Cleveland, The Staple Singers and Andrae Crouch to Rev. Jesse Jackson. We first heard Marvin, Carvin and BeBe Winans performing as 3WB debut If God Be For Us at the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. Its a simple song with a powerful message coming from Romans 8:31. We were excited when BeBe Winans went to twitter to announce there was a lyric video for the single. So here it is:
In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s iconic I Have a Dream speech, GOSPELflava remembers the impact of Mahalia Jackson and Gospel Music in the civil rights movement. (more…)
While everyone was grooving to Jesus I Love You and had Still on repeat, Percy Bady released a music video via youtube for Painful But Necessary from his Kingdom Inspirations CD. WE think its worth a share (and we would never steer you wrong, would we?), so here it is :

James Moore, The Clark Sisters, Ricky Dillard and Jesse Campbell, Minister Allen has finally released an instrumental CD entitled Hymns For The Soul. Allen gives his interpretation of the classic church standards Great Is Thy Faithfulness, It is Well and the Yes Lord Praise. The CD is available on iTunes.
Minister Allen shakes Heaven with his rendition of Even Me as evidenced here:
As America celebrates a day of independence, we take time for a flashback with America’s choir (appropriately dressed in their red, white and blue robes) presenting the GOSPEL version of the Star Spangled Banner. Happy 4th of July!
