Zacardi Cortez Wows Audiences During Stellar Weekend

What a weekend it was for Zacardi Cortez. The soulful singer paid tribute to gospel legend Daryl Coley covering the Coley classic Jesus Saves at the annual BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Luncheon and then performed his latest hit “1 on 1” on the 29th annual Stellar Awards on Saturday eve20140120-222330.jpgning. Cortez garnered praise from fans and fellow comrades in the Gospel community.

“Zacardi is the best singer in America today,” says Worldwide Music, Inc. CEO Kerry Douglas. “I have no doubt that he will be one of the biggest artists the gospel world has ever seen.” “1 on 1” is now #1 on this week’s Mediabase Gospel chart and remains at #2 for the sixth week on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart. Cortez’ forthcoming CD “Reloaded” will be released in March.

Zacardi-Cortez-BiographyZacardi Cortez follows up the spring 2012  release of his best-selling solo debut , “Zacardi Cortez: The Introduction” (Worldwide Music Inc.) with a new radio single, and its taking flight.   “1 on 1,”bows at #22 on this week’s Mediabase gospel chart and Billboard magazine Hot Gospel Songs chart. The digital single was released to online music retailers on July 2.

“The song is about spending one on one time with God,” says the Houston native. “We all go through those times when we just have to put everything else aside – turn off the TV, put the video game down, stop taking phone calls – and just concentrate on our relationship. It can be your relationship with your girlfriend, your child or God. We all need that one on one time with the ones we love to let them know that we do love them and that’s the real message of the song.” 1 on 1 serves as the anchor for “Kerry Douglas Presents Gospel Mix VI,” scheduled for release on August 20, 2013 featuring music from Tamela Mann, Ruben Studdard, Ted Winn, James Fortune & FIYA, Bryan Wilson, Earnest Pugh, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson, Damon Little, Evelyn Turrentine-Agee and a host of up and coming artists.
