Thursday, February 5th, 2015

BENITA-FARMER-FinalWe told you when we heard Benita Farmer that she was definitely one to watch.  Benita prepares to take center stage as Dream Gospel releases Mender of Me on February 17th.  The celebrated music teacher by day collaborates with her brother Lawrence Farmer IV on this project with some assistance from  songwriter Angela King,  producers Anthony Bell and Freddy Washington for this project.  Overall,   the disc will offer up message music providing an answer to the ills in today’s world.  “Jesus is STILL the answer”, she emphatically proclaims. “Whatever our situation, there is nothing out of his reach that He cannot handle, and the love of God is so wide and vast.  Think about it, Walter Hawkins wrote that God will never forsake us, even though he knows everything there is to know about us, that’s REAL LOVE.  We can find what we need when we come to the Mender.”

Mender hits digital outlets on February 17th.

Meet the Artist – Benita Farmer

Friday, August 8th, 2014

Benita FarmerEvery once and again you come across someone with an undeniable gift and calling to music and artistry, such is the case with Benita Farmer.   As the story goes, Benita hails from a musical family- her mom is gospel legend and Former Sweet Rain recording Artist Bishop Barbara Ward Farmer (Bread of Heaven).  Benita’s collaborative efforts with songwriters Angela King and Jamar Jones (executive minister of music for Bishop TD Jakes) and production assistance from Anthony Bell (Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton, Jazmine Sullivan, Usher) lead to the creation of her latest single, Mender of Me.  Its a dynamic song with a powerful message delivered with fervent passion and intentionality.  Mender of Me speaks a word of healing for the world to receive.  For this reason, we add Benita Farmer to the GOSPELflava watch list.
