Bill Moss Jr, Ready For Action

Thursday, June 12th, 2014

Bill MossDetroit seems to be bursting at the seams with GOSPEL (and giving Chicago, Dallas/Houston and DC/Maryland/Virginia a run for their money).  Making his return to the music scene is Bill Moss, Jr., the older brother of J Moss and nephew of the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark.  For the elder Moss, music is his birthright.  His parents, Bill and Essie Moss made an impact in Gospel music with their group Bill Moss and the Celestials.  Bill and J began their musical careers early on recording as The Moss Brothers.  In 2008, Bill made his solo debut with Manifested Favor, which made its way to #27 on the Billboard Gospel chart.

Bill makes a statement with his new single, Wrestle All Day.  As Jacob wrestled into the hours of the night declaring, “I will not let you go unless you bless me”, Moss encourages believers to hold on to God with the same fervor and dedication.  The new single is available now.

Bishop Marvin Winans and Perfecting Church Celebrate 25 Years

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014

marvin_winansAnswering a Divine appointment, Gospel singer/songwriter and  traveling evangelist Marvin L Winans gathered 8 members in the basement of his home for what would be the organization and founding of the Perfecting Church.  A modest total of 13 people would gather for the first service held on May 27, 1989.  Some 25 years later, Perfecting Church stands as a house of worship serving over 5,000 members with its 30 ministries that address the needs of the total man, including the Marvin L. Winans Academy of Performing Arts, the Perfecting Community Care Center, the Amelia Agnes Transitional Home for Women, and the Jenesta McCraw Youth Activity Center.  Bishop Winans and the Perfecting Church family are gearing up for a weekend celebration during the month of May.  Perfecting Church’s global outreach is felt via its Perfecting Fellowship International with churches in the US as well as in London and South Africa.

And what would a church be without music?????? The music ministry of Perfecting Church was celebrated in two CD’s, Marvin Winans and the Perfected Praise Choir Introducing Perfected Praise (1992) and Marvin Winans and Perfected Praise Choir Friends (2001).
