Oxygen Airs Deitrick Haddon and LXW Concert On Good Friday

Fresh from thLXW2eir awe inspiring performance on Celebration of Gospel, Deitrick Haddon and his League of Extraordinary Worshippers will once again wow viewers as Oxygen airs a special “Live In Concert” on Good Friday.

In addition to Haddon and the choir, the concert features performances from Donald Lawrence, Jessica Reedy, Hezekiah Walker and Ricky Dillard.  Haddon shared his excitement about the concert being aired, “”Wow! This is amazing! Oxygen is not afraid to go where no other network has gone just to encourage their viewers…and it’s the perfect day, it’s Good Friday. This is groundbreaking for the Kingdom.” Viewers will just have to tune in for themselves to see this extraordinary choir do what they do best, taking audiences back to choirs in church.

Sheri Jones Moffett Set To Release Power & Authority Live April 1st

Sheri Jones MWell, the wait is almost over as Motown Gospel recording artist SHERI JONES-MOFFETT puts finishing touches on her long awaited new album POWER & AUTHORITY: LIVE In Memphis.  While being her sophomore release, Power & Authority carries the distinction of being Jones – Moffett’s first full length live solo album.  “After Renewed, I want every project that I do to tell a story about the space that I’m living in,” Sheri explains. “My mentor, Donald Lawrence, told me, ‘Let every moment stand alone. Don’t try to make the next moment look like this one.’” The CD will be in stores on April 1st.

WOW Gospel 2014 Bows At #1 On Billboard Gospel Charts

Karen Clark Sheard Slated To Perform For BET Honors 2014

Karen_and_KiKi-01Karen Clark Sheard joins Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monae, Tamar Braxton, Smokey Robinson and Wayne Brady performing for BET Honors 2014.  This year’s event will honor Motown Records founder and creator of the smash hit MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, Berry Gordy, American Express CEO & Chairman, Ken Chenault, visual artist, Carrie Mae Weems, entertainment trailblazer, Ice Cube and the iconic Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Clark Sheard is also gearing up for the release of Sunday Morning, the first track from her highly anticipated Live In Chicago CD on Karew Records produced by Donald Lawrence. Karew Records will also release a new project from Kierra Sheard as well as the solo debut of Praise and Worship leader David Daughtry.

“BET Honors” will premiere during Black History Month on Monday, February 24.

Daryl Coley & Richard Smallwood Feted at BMI Trailblazers Luncheon

BMI Pres nemThe Gospel music industry gathered en masse as Broadcast Music, Incorporated  (BMI) celebrated the music and ministry of Daryl Coley and Richard Smallwood at its 15th annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards Luncheon. Kirk Tam BMI

Donnie McClurkin was joined this year by Erica Campbell (Mary Mary) as  hosts for the luncheon, along with Del Bryant, BMI President and Catherine Brewton, BMI Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, Atlanta.  During the celebration, BMI honored Kirk Franklin for penning “Take Me to the King,”  BMI’s Most-Performed Gospel Song of the Year performed by Tamela Mann and appearing on her Billboard chart topping Best Days CD.

 

The musicDonnie and Ericaal tributes were phenomenal and included presentations from  Zacardi Cortez (“Jesus Saves”), Tasha Page-Lockhart (“He’s Preparing Me”), Earnest Pugh (“More Like Jesus”), Floyd Wilkinson (“II Chronicles”), Beverly Crawford (“Can’t Tell It All”) and Jason Nelson (“Sovereign”). Serving as the event’s triumphant finale, the charismatic songs of Richard Smallwood were then celebrated with dynamic performances by Yolanda Adams (“ Total Praise”/“I Love The Lord”), Anaysha Figueroa-CooDaryl BMIper and Timiney Figueroa (“Angel Watching Over Me”), Y’Anna Crawley (“He Won’t Leave You”), Dorinda Clark Cole (“What He’s Done For Me”), Donnie McClurkin (“Jesus Lover of My Soul”/“Center of My Joy”) and Marvin Sapp (“Healing”).

Introducing Damion Murrill and Siloam

North Carolina boasts of being t12253305-damion-murrillhe home of great Gospel singers including Luther Barnes,  Pastor Shirley Caesar and Pastor John P. Kee .  Adding to that roster is Damion Murrill and Siloam.  Damion shouldn’t be too unfamiliar to the music scene; he hails from the other family group, the Stellar Award nominated Murrills, spent time honing his craft in the Tri City Singers and counts Donald Lawrence as one of his musical mentors.  With six musical siblings and preachers for parents, Damion Murrill’s future was already laid out for him.  Accompanying him on this musical journey is 16 handpicked singers from the NC area that comprise the group Siloam.  Murrill believes God will use this music ministry to open the eyes of others who have been blinded from God’s truth.  Look forward to a single, Kingdom Come as well as a full project in 2014.

The song, written by Lawrence and co produced by Percy Bady features the majestic vocals of Yolanda Adams backed by the Tri-City Singers.

Lawrence’s writing and production efforts has resulted in unforgettable chart toppers including “The Blessing of Abraham,” “Encourage Yourself,” “Back II Eden,” and most recently “The Gift”. The blessings keep going with Best for Last, which marks his first recording with Yolanda Adams.
