The Gospel Music Association has announced that the GMA Dove Awards will return to one of its original homes, Nashville, TN. Over the last few years the show has traveled, with Atlanta being its most recent home. The award show will take place for the first time in the fall of the year on October 15, 2013 and will be televised on GMC from the Lipscomb University Allen Arena. Mayor Karl Dean of Nashville states, “The Christian and Gospel music industry plays an important role in the energy of our city’s music scene, and, as Music City, we are proud to welcome the Dove Awards back to Nashville.” The Association has also added a feature film category to the awards, with inspirational films being on the rise in the industry. To assist in these efforts, The Dove Foundation has partnered with the GMA Association with the development and credibility of the award.

The Dove’s Have A New Home…
Wednesday, July 28th, 2010
The Gospel Music Association recently announced that the 2011 Dove Awards will be held on April 20, 2011 but not in Nashville, TN. The 2011 Dove Awards will be held in Atlanta, GA at the Fabulous Fox Theater. This is an interesting change as the award ceremony had been held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville for the past few years. GMC formerly known as Gospel Music Channel which is headquartered in Atlanta, recently renewed its partnership with GMA and plans to broadcast the ceremony with the help of the city of Atlanta.
