Tyscot Records, the nation’s oldest Black Gospel label is ecstatic with the news of its five nominations for the 47th annual Dove Awards. Anthony Brown & group therAPy continue their year of celebration as Worth is a contender in the Song of the Year and Urban Worship Recorded Song of the Year categories. Brown was also nominated for Gospel Artist of the Year and Everyday Jesus was nominated for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year.
Briana “Bri” Babineaux earned her first Dove Award nomination in the newly created category of Urban Worship Album of the Year for her debut album “Keys To My Heart” that debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Magazine’s Gospel Albums sales chart this past spring.

The Chicago Mass Choir celebrates their two Dove Award nominations, one in the Traditional Gospel Album of the Year and the other in the Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year categories.
The news comes as the choir returns from their Michigan weekend, visiting Saginaw and worshiping with Bishop J Drew Sheard and Greater Emmanuel Church of God in Christ in Detroit, Michigan. Their latest album, We Give You Praise, continues its climb on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart making it to number 16 this week.

Grammy award winner Lecrae gives details of his journey and all the things that make for faith and freedom in Unashamed, his life story in his own words. 
The Atlanta based Christian hip hop artist has won seven Dove Awards, won two Soul Train Music Awards and garnered a BET Hip Hop Awards nomination and one Billboard Music Award nomination. His seven studio albums and mixtapes have sold more than 1.5 million copies. In the book, he shares the experiences that have caused him to grow closer to God and deeper in His faith.

Nominees were announced today for the 46th Annual Dove Awards, which will return to the city of Nashville at the Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University on October 13th. The show will air on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) on October 18th.

The Los Angeles Chapter of the Recording Academy will host a conversation with 4 time Grammy winners Edwin Hawkins and Erica Campbell on August 28th. Hawkins is regarded by many as the father of contemporary gospel music and is known for the 1969 hit Oh Happy Day with his Edwin Hawkins Singers. Campbell, one half of gospel duo Mary Mary is celebrating her 4 Dove Award nominations for Help, her debut solo CD and the release of her new radio single You Are. Help held the top spot on the Billboard Gospel Charts for seven weeks. 
Campbell is slated to perform at the October 7th Dove Awards telecast. “Feeling very blessed for every acknowledgement and every opportunity I’m given,” said Campbell. “I’m so very excited to partner with N.A.R.A.S. and interview the gospel legend Edwin Hawkins. It is going to be an amazing night.”

Jonathan McReynolds makes the rounds as a Dove Award nominee performing during the official Pre-Show for the Dove Awards streaming live via Hearitfirst.com on Tuesday, October 15th. McReynolds debut CD Life Music made it to #3 on the Billboard charts and received a nomination in the Contemporary Gospel, Urban Song of the Year category. You can also catch Jonathan as he shares hosting duties with Chanel at the Urban Soul Cafe Pre Dove Party on Monday, October 14th.

On the heels of r
eceiving 5 Dove Award nominations (including Song of the Year for Take Me to the King) comes news of the October 29th release of Tamela Mann’s Best Days Deluxe Edition. The special set features 5 new recordings including 3 live versions of Best Days hits and two new songs.
Best Days Deluxe Edition contains live versions of concert fan-favorites “Guest of Honor,” “Best Days,” and “Take Me To The King,” which is featured in a medley with “I Surrender All.” It also includes an updated version of the classic Kirk Franklin/Tamela Mann collaboration “Now Behold The Lamb” and newly released Gospel radio single “I Can Only Imagine.”
