l home of Karen Clark Sheard, Kierra Sheard, The Clark Sisters and Jonathan Nelson announced news of the label’s new partnership with Entertainment One Music beginning with the live recording of Karen Clark Sheard on September 9th in Chicago produced by Donald Lawrence.
The two entities already share a connection via the BET hit reality series The Sheards. “We are excited to extend the eOne relationship with the Sheard family beyond television into music as well through this new partnership with Karew Records,” said Phil Thornton, Vice President of Marketing and New Business Development at eOne Music, Nashville.
The label also indicated that Johnathan Nelson’s latest project, Finish Strong will continue its distribution via Motown Gospel and the next CDs from Kierra Sheard and the Clark Sisters will also be handled by Motown Gospel

ur calendars for June 18th, when all roads will lead to Dr. Bill Winston’s Living Word Christian Center in Chicago for the live recording celebrating award winning singer/songwriter/producer Donald Lawrence’s 20 years in gospel music. Some of music’s best and brightest will be on hand to celebrate this momentous ocassion, including gospel royalty Karen Clark Sheard and Kierra Sheard, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Ted & Sheri, Faith Evans, Lalah Hathaway, Kelly Price and more.
The live recording in Chicago will mark the first collaboration between Lawrence’s Quiet Water Entertainment production company and eOne Music in their partnership, Lawrence’s live recording for Volume II will take place in Charlotte, NC with the Tri-City Singers and other guests at a later date.

Motown Gospel announced the signing of Micah Stampley. His 2005 debut CD The Songbook of Micah was released on Bishop T D Jakes’ Dexterity Sounds/EM
I Gospel label and featured the hit Take My Life/Holiness.
Stampley had this to say about his signing: “I’m excited to be working with Ken Pennell, Larry Blackwell, and the Motown Gospel family to take my ministry and career to the next level. It’s great to be home with a new start, a new vision, a new passion, and a new sound that I’m ready to share with the world.” A studio project is in the works featuring production from Asaph Alex Ward and guest appearances from Donnie McClurkin and Karen Clark Sheard. The project is scheduled for a winter release.

The series premiere of The Sheards on BET drew 1.2 million viewers, making the show the top ranked Sunday c
able reality series this year (according to the Nielsen Company) . Meanwhile, the 2013 installment of the Celebration of Gospel was seen by 1.8 million viewers. Celebration of Gospel, hosted by Steve Harvey holds the distinction of being the #1 gospel telecast on TV for 13 consecutive years running.
The Sheards moves into its regular time slot of 8pm ET on Sunday, April 14th and you can view the rebroadcast of Celebration of Gospel on the following dates:
Thursday, April 11 at 10:00 p.m. ET
Saturday, April 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET
Wednesday, April 17 at 9:00 p.m. ET

BET announced its slate of programs for the new season on Tuesday, April 2nd. Making a return is Bobby Jones Gospel, the longest continually running original series on cable television and the network’s flagship gospel program, the gospel competition Sunday Best hosted by Kirk Franklin and the ever popular Celebration of Gospel hosted by Steve Harvey.
Adding to the network’s line up is the much anticipated debut of The Sheards, a reality show following the lives of siblings Kierra and J Drew Sheard and their parents Bishop J Drew Sheard and Karen Clark Sheard. BET is also excited about the premiere of TD Jakes Presents: Mind Body and Soul, a talk show fronted by noted spiritual leader and motivator Bishop T D Jakes covering a wide range of topics including health and wellness, finance and relationships. The show will air on Sundays beginning in the fall of 2013

BET is preparing for a power packed weekend of spirit filled programing. Tune in Sunday night beginning at 8pm for the Celebration of Gospel , “Forward In Faith”, hosted by Steve Harvey. Then stay tuned for the premiere of the new reality series, “The Sheards” featuring Bishop J Drew Sheard, Karen Clark Sheard, Kierra Sheard, and J. Drew Sheard II.

Jonathan Nelson went to social media today to unveil the CD cover for Finish Strong, his April 23rd debut release on the Karew Record Label. The single is currently number 26 on the Billboard Top Gospel Songs Chart. In addition to the title track, the CD will also feature Worked It Out, a Nelson composition written in tribute to Walter Hawkins and the Hawkins Family featuring labelmate Karen Clark Sheard.

First came the Marys, then there was word of pilots being shot for Kim Burrell and Marvin Sapp followed by the announcement of the adventures of Karen Clark Sh
eard, Bishop J Drew Sheard and their musical children followed closely by Michelle Williams and her sisters. Well now, Gospel Music reality tv just keeps growing as Billy Hall, EVP of Programming and Production for Bounce TV announced yesterday that production is to begin later this month on a reality show featuring the Singing Joneses’ (aka Forever Jones). This marks the network’s first ever original reality series.
The network has ordered six episodes and principal production will take place in the family’s hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana.

One of the premiere families of Gospel music are heading to reality TV. “Bishop J. Drew Sheard, his wife GRAMMY Award Winning Karen Clark Sheard of, ‘The Clark Sisters”, and their talented children , Stellar Award Winning Gospel Artist Kierra Sherad, and Producer J. Drew “JDS” Sheard, will star in “The Sheards” . The show will debut on April 7th on BET, and center around the family juggling their lives as one of the top acts in Gospel Music, running their new label Karew Records, and their church Greater Emmanuel Institution Church of God In Christ in Detroit, MI. Habakkuk Music announced today a partnership with Pastor Milton Hawkins for the July, 2013 release of Pastor Milton R. Hawkins Presents “In The Sanctuary”, the live recording of the Memphis based Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ Women’s Choir.
The TOD Women’s Choir wowed audiences with Everybody Praise, their first radio single featuring Carla Tolbert Taylor at Hezekiah Walker’s Choir Fest during Stellar Awards Weekend in January. In addition to Taylor, the twelve song CD features performances from Karen Clark Sheard, Tamela Mann and Habakkuk Music Recording Artist Lisa Page Brooks.
