Karen Clark Sheard Mobile App Unveiled

Karew RecordsKaren Clark filephoto recording artist and Grammy award winner Karen Clark Sheard bridges the digital divide with the launch of her first mobile app on Google Play and iTunes.  In addition to music, the app will feature photos, videos and exclusive content as well as a  “Fan Wall” for her fan base to interact with one another.

Clark Sheard shared these sentiments: “I’m so excited about the launch of my mobile app. I embrace innovative ideas and technologies, especially when it provides another outlet for me to spread my message and stay in touch with my supporters.”

The Clark Sisters and Kierra Sheard Guest on Greater Emmanuel Live Recording August 17th

clark sisters glamDrew and KarenOf course, we knew it was bound to happen, and now we know when.  August 17th will more than likely go down as a historic moment when proud pastor Bishop J Drew Sheard presents the Greater Emmanuel Institutional Mass Choir in a live recording. If you remember, Greater Emmanuel’s 1994 CD The Sun Will Shine Again peaked at number 30 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums charts and produced the radio hit Get the Glory. Of equal importance is the fact that Greater Emmanuel is the spiritual home of Detroit’s leading ladies,  The Clark Sisters (Karen Clark Sheard serves as first lady),  BET Sunday Best Judge Kierra Sheard and J Drew Sheard III.

As anticipated, the Clark Sisters and Kierra will make guest appearances on the CD and GEI minister of music and decorated producer Derrick Starks will share production duties with J Drew Sheard III.   Starks, who is a former music director for the Trumpet Awards and contributed to the Stellar Award nominated Temple of Deliverance Women’s Choir project is the composer of several chart topping compositions including So Many Times, He Brought Me and Take It Back (all recorded by Dorinda Clark Cole) which was celebrated by BMI as 2010’s Most Performed Gospel Song of the Year.

Destined to Win, the long awaited and highly anticipated CD from Karen Clark Sheard will make its way to stores and digital outlets on Friday, July 17th.  Recorded live in Chicago, thKaren Clark Sheard-Destined To Win-album covere disc pairs Clark Sheard with the production work of Donald Lawrence, Daniel Weatherspoon and her son J Drew Sheard.

The 4 time Grammy winner shared these thoughts, “I’ve had some tests and trials….but I kept pushing through. God gave me a word that you have to speak because your words have power. I want the album to be a driving force to move people to where they need to be.”

Among the gems on the disc is a not to be missed Pass the mic session on the Andrae Crouch composition, Where Jesus Is featuring the Clark Sisters, Kierra Sheard and Donald Lawrence’s Company singer Kim McFarland.  Where Jesus Is appears exclusively on the Walmart version of Destined to Win.

David Daughtry Leaps On Billboard Charts

JJ Hairston And Youthful Praise Drop New CD October 28th

JJ Hairston sets the record straight about his continued recordings with Youthful Praise.   “People always ask me if I’m going to go out on my own and do my own thing. I think Youthful Praise is a part of what I do so I’d never make a J.J. Hairston record. It will always be J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise.” Looking back, Hairston admits to never having intentions to lead the aggregation. “I joined just to sing tenor.  Youthful Praise taught me to be a leader. I didn’t form the group. It was already there when I got there but they made me a leader and that’s why I appreciate the group as a whole. I See Victory

Hairston and YP are excited about the October 28th release of their 7th live CD, I See Victory on Light Records. The 17 track disc features the choir and assistance from Donnie McClurkin, Karen Clark Sheard, Vashawn Mitchell, Jason Nelson and Deon Kipping.  Radio has responded to “It Pushed Me” as it  rose to #13 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart and “Bless Me” (featuring a rousing lead by Donnie McClurkin) is #27 on the Gospel Airplay chart.

Graceland Earns Kierra Sheard A #1 Debut On Billboard

Its a #1 debut for KKierra Sheard Gracelandarew Records and Motown Gospel as Graceland, the new disc from Kierra Sheard debuts at #1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.  The album was also #33 on the Billboard 200.  Kierra participated in release events in both Atlanta and Charlotte and is making preparation for her 9th annual Bold Right Life convention which takes place on August 7-9 in Detroit.

Kierra Sheard20131223-182012.jpg has been quite busy these days, picking up responsibilities as a judge for the new season of Sunday Best and preparing for this year’s Bold Right Life Conference whKierra with awardich will feature such heavy hitters as Tasha Cobbs, Karen Clark Sheard, Hezekiah Walker, Isaac Caree and Warryn Campbell.  Kierra and her brother J Drew provided us with music to listen to while we wait for the new CD in the form of Second Win.  One listen at the intro and all the die hard Clark Sisters fans are sent into pandemonium.  The creative geniuses have sampled The Clark Sisters They Were Overcome (By the Word) from the 1980 Is My Living In Vain album.  Kierra even gets a chance to sing over the Clark Sisters near the end of the song.  Let’s just say we were impressed.
