Almost 3 years later and William Mcdowell’s “As We Worship:Live” recording is still making an impact in the gospel music world! Light Records recording artist and BET Sunday Best finalist Jessica Reedy has announced her release date. Her debut CD, “From The Heart” hits stores on September 27th. Keep those radios tuned to your local GOSPEL station as her new single “Put It On The Altar” debut this week and continues to gain airplay. The single is scheduled to hit the digital download market in July . After a 10 year Hiatus from recording as a duo, Dawkins & Dawkins ( Eric& Anson Dawkins) are releasing a new project entitled “From Now On” on their new label home, Light Records. It is set to hit stores on June 28th! These brothers are respected producers, writers, and vocalists in the music world. There reach spans across the gospel, pop, and R&B genres. Although they have continued to record,write, produce , and sing on other projects and for other artists, their release as a duo is highly anticipated. James Fortune is bringing his new label “Fiya World Music” to Light Records and eOne Distribution. This marketing deal will include the new material from James and his dynamic vocal group Fiya, as well as new artists that he plans to sign under the deal. James explains that “he respects the artist that are connected to Light Records and is excited about his future with them.” We can expect new music from James Fortune and Fiya in early 2012 under the Fiya World Music Label. James Fortune was introduced to the Gospel world in 2005 with their album, “You Survived”, and followed later with the groundbreaking, “I Trust You”, and “I Believe”.

In the times we are living in, worship is proving to be needed now more than ever. William McDowell’s worship anthem, “I Give Myself Away” has climbed back to #1 on the BDS and Mediabase Radio Charts. The song has gained significant airplay since its release, keeping the two disc album, “As We Worship Live” at the top of the charts. The lyrics are the song are simple as they say, ” I Give Myself Away, So You Can Use Me”.

As the 2nd Quarter of Gospel Music comes upon us we are welcomed to the news that Ricky Dillard and New G’s CD is scheduled to be released on April 26th. The album will be released on Light Records, and a DVD will be available. The project was recorded live last year in Detroit to rave reviews.

JJ Hariston and his powerful group Youthful Praise have given us songs that are becoming staples and classic in Gospel music. With Songs like “Lord You’re Mighty”, and “Awesome God”, this talented musician has stayed true to his brand and flows effortlessly in the vein God has him in. The group started in 2004 with Light Records/Evidence Gospel and have decided to renew their contract. JJ explains that this was more than just a “business” move. He considers the staff at Light Records to be his “extended family”, and is excited about all the great things to come.
JJ and Youthful Praise are scheduled to record another Live album this summer.
