The dynamic duo known as Mary Mary are the epitome of being able to create gospel music that resonates not only with churchgoers, but those who may not be avid gospel music lovers. They reach the entire world! They are being honored at the 24th ASCAP Rhythm& Soul Music Awards with the “Golden Note” award. This award is bestowed upon artists that have achieved great milestones in their musical career, so it’s no surprise that Mary Mary (Erica&Tina Campbell) will be recipients of this great honor! We congratulate Mary Mary and wish them much more success and longevity in their musical endeavors!
The television show, which is being filmed in Atlanta and eclipsed more than 1.1 million viewers during its third season debut, showcases the vocal talents of artists from across the country in a competition to become the next great gospel star. Sneed compliments the cast of luminaries on the show which is hosted by gospel icon, Kirk Franklin and judged by veteran gospel recording artist, Donnie McClurkin and the award-winning contemporary gospel duo, Mary Mary.
“It is truly an honor to serve in this capacity, working with some of the best up-and-coming artists, as well as those who are known and loved by people around the world,” said Sneed, who, before his work with BET, served as a professor of music at the City University of New York and as a staff accompanist at the Juilliard School of Music. “At times, it’s unbelievable— like a dream come true to have so many amazing people in one room.”
The new season of Sunday Best will kick into high gear airing each Sunday beginning in July 2011 through September 2011.
Mary Mary is returning to the Jay Leno Show! The ladies will be performing live on “The Tonight Show”, on Thursday March 31st. Their 6th Studio Album, “Something Big”, which includes the smash single, “Walking”, was released nationwide on Tuesday. We got a chance to sit down with the ladies for an in-depth interview, where they discussed the new album, upcoming tour, and more.

With A #1 Gospel Song sweeping the country, 2 Grammy Award Nominations, and powerful performances on specials such as the BET Celebration of Gospel and The Stellar Awards, VaShawn Mitchell continues to walk in this season that he has been prepared for. Get ready to experience VaShawn in a “BIG” way as he was just added to the “STILL: Something Big Tour” with Bebe and CeCe Winans and Mary Mary! VaShawn will join the two groups starting in April. The tour is slated to hit major markets such as New York, Chicago and Washington.
Mary Mary and Deitrick Haddon are set to perform on the 42nd Annual NAACP Image Awards. The Award show airs this Friday March 4, 2011 at 8 p.m. on FOX. Mary Mary is set to release their new album, “Something Big” on Tuesday March 29, 2011 while Deitrick’s Haddon’s latest addition, “Church On The Moon” continues to make impact on the charts.
