Celebrated songwriter Pastor Charles Jenkins and Fellowship Chicago enlists the services of native Chicagoan Michelle Williams and Byron Cage for Holiday Praise: The Thankful Tour visiting select cities across the US before returning to Chicago for a holiday television taping.
“It’s been an amazing year for us and we’re all so thankful,” says Jenkins. His hit single War from his latest album Any Given Sunday spent 5 weeks in the #1 slot on the Gospel Airplay Chart. “We all have so much to be thankful for and to celebrate God’s goodness. The tour is going to be an amazing, uplifting and fun experience for the entire family.”

Bishop Rance Allen, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Tamela Mann and others join Aretha Franklin and the Morgan State University Choir for “The Gospel Tradition: In Performance at the White House”. The hour long program celebrates the rich history of Gospel music and its impact on other music genres and will air on PBS and TV One on June 26th.
“The gospel tradition, which has its roots in the African-American community, has lifted up so many, promising hope whether through the everyday travails of life or some of our nation’s most turbulent times,” noted Brad Siegel, president of TV One. “We’re proud to be partners with WETA and public broadcasting in celebrating this uniquely American institution at the White House and with the American public.”

Of all the weekend buzz of Gospel’s biggest night, the 30th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards was capped by a reunion performance of Destiny’s Child. Michelle Williams flanked by Beyonce and Kelly Rowland opened the awards show with a rousing rendition of Say Yes from Williams’ Journey to Freedom CD.
The big winner of the night was Erica Campbell, taking home six statues out of the ten nominations that she received for her solo debut CD Help.
The Stellar Awards broadcast will be shown on Easter Sunday April 5th on TV One.

The nominees for the Soul Train Music Awards were announced on Monday, October 13th. Talk show maven Wendy Williams will serve as the host for this year’s festivities. The Soul Train Awards 2014 show will be taped in Las Vegas, NV on Friday, November 7, 2014, and air on CENTRIC and BET on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 8 pm ET/PT.

Just in case you were waiting for a Destiny’s Child reunion, the wait is now over. Michelle Williams debuts her new song “Say Yes” (feat. Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland), heading both to iTunes and radio on June 2nd. “Say Yes” is produced by superstar producer Harmony Samuels and is from Williams’ upcoming album Journey to Freedom.
Catch Michelle Williams on the road this summer at the Essence Festival July 5th and on television as she joins Deitrick Haddon for the premiere of Fix My Choir later in the year,

ard right. As if it couldn’t get any better, Fantasia joins multiple award winner Michelle Williams for the remix of If We Had Your Eyes released to iTunes today. Eyes is the first single from Journey to Freedom, Michelle’s fourth studio album from the eOne Music group. The song is riding the charts and is currently in the top 30 at Urban AC radio. Journey To Freedom is scheduled for a February 2014 release date.

TV One will air Verizon’s How Sweet The Sound Road to Gospel Greatness: The Finale hosted by Light Records’ Michelle Williams on Sunday, March 31, at 10 PM/ET. The one-hour television special will feature performances b
y each of the regional finalists as well as the announcement of the grand prize winner. The choirs were judged based on their winning performances at the regional shows by a distinguished panel of judges in the gospel music community that included CeCe Winans, Erica Campbell of Mary Mary, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker and James Robinson from Light Records.
