Paul Porter Enjoys Life Full and FREE

Paul Porter is living the good life and celebrating the release of his new solo project, F.R.E.E. on Tre’Myles Music/Motown Gospel/ Mars On Sunday.  The disc features Paul at his best with a littPaul Porter Freele help from Ruben Studdard, LeAndria Johnson, Rance Allen and Smokie Norful.

Paul’s testimony of deliverance takes center stage with this project.  “In 1996, I had an aneurysm,” Paul shares. “I couldn’t walk or talk, and I lost my memory. I stayed in the bed maybe a year and a half. From 1996-2006 I went through all of the transitions—from the bed to the wheelchair to the walker to the cane. In June 2006, I dropped the cane!”

Production on the ten song disc is handled by the Grammy Award winning duo Blac Elvis (Beyonce, Jamie Foxx) and songwriter Harold Lilly (Alicia Keys, Beyonce).

Graceland Earns Kierra Sheard A #1 Debut On Billboard

Its a #1 debut for KKierra Sheard Gracelandarew Records and Motown Gospel as Graceland, the new disc from Kierra Sheard debuts at #1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.  The album was also #33 on the Billboard 200.  Kierra participated in release events in both Atlanta and Charlotte and is making preparation for her 9th annual Bold Right Life convention which takes place on August 7-9 in Detroit.

Brian Courtney Wilson Gets In The Ring July 25th

BCourtneyWilsonNewly signed Motown Gospel artist Brian Courtney Wilson pulls out all the stops for his first live recording session on July 25th.  The event takes place at Pastor Rudy Rasmus’  St. John’s United Methodist Church in the city of Houston.  The album entitled, “Worth Fighting For” will be Wilson’s  debut release on the Motown Gospel label with production duties handled by the very capable Aaron Lindsey.

Lindsey could hardly contain his joy in preparing for the session.  “I’m truly honored to see this recording come together.  Brian’s songs are lyrically and musically so relevant to the current hybrid sound of worship and gospel that this recording is going to be amazing!” Wilson echoed the same sentiments, “I am so thankful to be recording new music with this team and to share in the experience with my friends, family and supporters. In some ways it feels like a long time coming…in other ways it feels like it is right on time.”

Allen, Elvis Williams (Blac Elvis) and Warryn Campbell.  No Greater Love, the first single from the CD is making impact at radio and is currently in the top 20 on the Billboard Hot Songs Gospel chart. Micah Stampley Makes June Issue of Ebony Magazine

MicahMotown Gospel recording artist Micah Stampley has made a name for himself as a singer, but few get to see the intricate part he plays in home and family life.  Stampley is featured in the June edition of Ebony Magazine as husband to his manager/wife Heidi, father of 5, dog owner and the family culinary expert. As the children also share their father’s love for music and singing,   Micah also finds time to coach them in various sports, including basketball and track.  The Black Music Month Special Edition of Ebony Magazine is on newsstands now.

Kierra Kiki SheardMark your calendars for May 28th, when Kierra Sheard goes to UStream to host an online listening session promoting her 5th solo album,  GRACELAND (Karew/Motown).  2nd Win, the first single from the CD was released on May 20th and has maintained a presence in the top 20 iTunes Christian/Gospel Hot Songs chart.  In addition to production from J Drew Sheard, Graceland pairs Kierra for the first time with songwriter Diane Warren (Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Céline Dion) and rising songwriter/producer Harmony Samuels (Ariana Grande, Fantasia, Michelle Williams). Graceland arrives in stores on July 22nd.

Tye Tribbett Nominated For BET Award

Tye Tribbett 514What a banner year it has been for Tye Tribbett! The Motown Gospel artist took home a Grammy Award  for Gospel Song of the Year and for Best Gospel Album.  This was followed by high profile performances of his Billboard smash single “He Turned It” on UNCF’s ‘An Evening of Stars and Celebration of Gospel and an appearance on 106 & Park. Adding to this streak is Tribbett’s first nomination for Best Gospel Artist for the 2014 BET Awards.

Tribbett hosts his first mentorship clinic for aspiring singers and songwriters this weekend.
