Musi
c City showed itself hospitable hosting the live recording of Same Seed’s Jesse White on Sunday, June 7th at the Temple Church. The guest list included a number of Gospel personalities including Dr. Bobby Jones, S
an Franklin Jackson and Nashville Super Choir’s Dr. Everett Drake along with the Gospel executive branch being represented by Roderick Jemison and Tammy Taylor. Demetrus Alexander Stewart served as the host for the night’s festivities and admonished the attendees to prepare themselves for a night of anointed music and powerful praise.
The heavens opened as Benita Washington led the people into worship and Jesse took the floor backed by Pastor Victor Wynn and the Temple Church Praise Choir. The music of the disc gives a wide array of Gospel sounds including an impassioned pipe organ solo from Nathan Burbank on Come Thou Fount. Another of the evening’s highlights came as Jesse was joined by his twin Jeffrey at the mic to the glow of adoration from their parents listened intently and taking the moment in. Look for the
album release in the 4th quarter of the year.

The Stellar awards released the following information via their website on Friday, October 18th
Stellar Awards Fan Favorite Quartet of the Year
Although Quartets are a staple in the gospel music industry, the Stellar Awards criteria does not facilitate nationwide inclusion. Therefore, the category would be eliminated. However, because of the importance of quartets, the Stellar Awards Executive Board and Nominating Committee voted to have a separate Fan Favorite Quartet category, consisting of quartet projects released during our eligibility period. The Stellar Nominating Committee identified the quartets that will appear on the initial ballot and this initial list includes those quartets that were qualified to meet the initial Stellar Awards criteria.
The first Fan Favorite Quartet ballot will be available online at www.thestellarawards.com from October 25, 2013 – November 8, 2013. The top vote-getters from that ballot will move on to a second and final ballot, which will be voted on from November 15th to November 29th. The top four vote-getters from the second ballot will become the Fan Favorite Quartet Nominees and the winner will be announced during the Stellar Awards Pre-Show in Nashville on Friday, January 17, 2014.
