Tamela Mann, Tasha Cobbs and Lecrae Have Big Night at Dove Awards

TamelaTasha Cobbs, Tamela Mann and Lecrae were all smiles as each took home statues at the GMA Dove Awards held at the Allen Arena on the campus of Nashville’s LipscomTasha_Cobbs_Single_FINALb University.

Tasha Cobbs and Tamela Mann electrifyed the audiences with their renditions of Break Every Chain and Take Me To The King. You can catch their performances when the show is broadcast on UP tv on Sunday, October 20th.

2013 GMA Dove Award Nominees Announced

DOVE-awards-press-conferenceThe nominees for the 2013 GMA Dove Awards were announced via press conference today. Tamela Mann received multiple nominations including Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and Gospel Performance of the Year. Newcomer Tasha Cobbs also received nods for New Artist of the Year, Contemporary/Urban Gospel Song of the Year and Contemporary/Urban Album of the Year.. Other gospel nominees include Andrae Crouch, Charles Jenkins and Fellowship Chicago, Israel Houghton, Anita Wilson, John P Kee, Jonathan McReynolds and Anthony Brown and Group Therapy.

The Dove Awards will be announced on October 15th, 2013 during ceremonies held at the Allen Arena on the David Lipscomb University Campus in the city of Nashville.

One Way Experience Celebrates The Jesus Movement With National Tour and DVD Taping

Grammy and Dove Award winners Andrae Crouch, Chuck Girard, Evie, Michael Omartian, Randy Stonehill and The Archers will embark on a 36 city national tour starting with a two night cOWE_photooncert and tv/dvd taping at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium May 18th and 19th.

With a combined total of over 230 albums recorded, these renowned musicians launched the revolutionary Jesus Movement forever introducing the world to contemporary Christian music.  The reaction to their music was immediate and profound. “’Wow! Are they singing about Jesus?!’” recounts Steve Archer, member of the Grammy-wining trio, The Archers. “We were putting the Word in the faces of people that had never heard it,” said Crouch, one of Christian music’s most revered songwriters and artists.

The One Way Experience concerts will embrace, pay tribute to, and rekindle an awareness of the innovative artists who spearheaded this incredible movement.

Lady Tramaine Hawkins confirmed via Twitter and Facebook that she is among the honorees for the 2013 BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards Luncheon held during Stellar Awards Weekend in Nashville, Tennessee.  Sharing BMI top honors with Tramaine are  Edwin Hawkins, widely regarded as one of the fathers of contemporary gospel music and noted singer/songwriter and master producer Kurt Carr.

Chicago Mass Choir Prepares For Live Recording

Chicago Mass Choir heads to Trinity Music City Auditorium in Hendersonville, Tennessee (home of the Trinity Broadcasting Network’s (TBN) Nashville Studios) for their 15th CD/DVD and International Television taping on Saturday, October 30th.  CMC has dominated the gospel scene since 1991 with chart topping hits including I Can Go to the Rock, Nobody Like Jesus, Holy Ghost Power, Take Over Lord, He That Believeth and My Everything and featuring unforgettable leads from the likes of Pam Crawford, Reverend Phillip Sneed, Evangelist Lemmie Battles and their inimitable choir master Percy Gray .
