Phil Thornton Moves To RCA Inspiration VP Post

Phil ThorntonIn the realignment that shifts RCA Inspiration to the Provident Music Group,  news now comes that Phil Thornton has been appointed Senior VP and General Manager of RCA Inspiration, succeeding Geo Bivins.  Thornton has served for the last four years as VP/GM of of urban inspirational at eOne Music.

“Phil Thornton is a demonstrated leader and visionary with an infectious passion for Gospel music and breaking artists,” said Terry Hemmings. “We are thrilled to have him leading the RCA Inspiration team with its renewed focus on the future while continuing to honor the imprint’s rich decades-long heritage.”

RCA Inspiration Heads West To Nashville

RCA Inspiration announced a shift of operations as the label home to mega Gospel superstars Donnie McClurkin, Israel Houghton, MarvinRCA Inspiration Sapp, Le’Andria Johnson, Fred Hammond and more will now exist under the umbrella of the Nashville based Provident Music Group division of Sony Records.

Donnie McClurkin Readies Us For The Journey

D_McClurkin_TheJourney_CVRMultiple Grammy, Stellar and Dove Award winner Donnie McClurkin takes us on a musical experience by way of his seventh album The Journey, hitting stores and digital outlets on August 19th.  The disc features fourteen tracks in total that comprise eleven classics and three new songs including his latest single, I Need You.

The singer/songwriter and radio host hits the road bringing inspiring words and music to people across the country as he presents An Evening with Donnie McClurkin visiting several cities.  A tentative schedule is listed below

William Murphy Gets His First Number 1

William Murphy-Demonstrate-Album coverRCA Inspiration celebrates as Demonstrate, the new CD from Grammy nominated Bishop William Murphy takes a bow this week at #1 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart.  The album was recorded before a live audience at The Church at Chapel Hill in Douglasville, Georgia and marks the singer/songwriter’s fifth solo project.

 

Murphy could not contain his excitement with the news, “I’m extremely grateful to God, and to every person, who’s helped to make my new CD/DVD, DEMONSTRATE, #1! Your love and your support is Divine, and I pray that every song helps you to encounter God’s Presence, over and over, and over again.”

Deon Kipping Charts At Number 1

Fred Hammond Readies New Album For September 30th Release

FRED_HAMMOND-WORSHIP JOURNAL LIVE-album artFred Hammond took to social media to introduce Father Jesus Spirit, the new single from his forthcoming album Worship Journal Live.   The new disc, the follow up to his 2014 hit CD I Will Trust was recorded last month in front of a standing room only crowd, marking Hammond’s first live recording in 17 years. Worship Journal Live hits stores and digital outlets on September 30th.

Hammond will introduce the music of the new album to audiences as he brings his ever popular Festival of Praise Tour to some 40 + cities across the US starting with the inaugural stop being October 5th  in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joining him on the tour this year is Hezekiah Walker, Israel Houghton, Regina Belle, Karen Clark Sheard, Casey J, and comedian Earthquake.

123 Victory Brings Kirk Franklin Another #1 Hit

kirk-franklinGospel Superstar Kirk Franklin gains another #1 with “123 Victory” hitting the top spot on the Mediabase Gospel radio chart.  “123 Victory”is the follow up single to “Wanna Be Happy?” and both come from Losing My Religion, his eleventh studio album.

Franklin has been greeting fans in sold out venues across the country in his  20 years in One Night Tour .  The last leg of the tour visits Alabama, Georgia and Massachusetts before the finale in Baltimore, Maryland at the Lyric Opera House on June 19th.

LE’ANDRIA JOHNSON BEGINS WORK ON NEW CD

LeAndria-BETTER DAYSGrammy and Stellar Award winner Le’Andria Johnson took to social media on Sunday night to inform her fans that she has begun work on an upcoming solo album.  The Sunday Best winner released a new single, Better Days in March following the Season One finale of  Preachers of Atlanta.    Better Days also received a warm reception from audiences as Johnson performed the song on BET’s Celebration of Gospel.

This will be the fifth project from Johnson and she presented her wish list of collaborators and duet partners including Fantasia, Anthony Brown, Tye Tribbett, B Slade, Marvin Winans, Darryl Walls and Tim Rogers.

New Music From William Murphy June 24th

Last May, Bishop WILLIAM MURPHY recorded live at The Church at Chapel Hill in Douglasville, GA .  The night began to take shape as AWilliam Murphy-Demonstrate-Album coverrise (You Are Good),   the opening song lifted the hearts of the people.  On that evening, Murphy’s power demonstration help to usher people into God’s presence as he was joined by Bishop James Morton, Tasha Cobbs, and Nicole Binion.

On June 24th, RCA Inspiration will release Demonstrate, the fifth album from the powerfully anointed singer and songwriter .  A special deluxe digital edition featuring 17 songs is also available now for pre-order.
