Nominees were announced today for the 46th Annual Dove Awards, which will return to the city of Nashville at the Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University on October 13th. The show will air on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) on October 18th.
In the Gospel Artist of the Year category, nominations went to Erica Campbell, Fred Hammond, Israel & New Breed, Jonathan McReynolds, Tamela Mann and Tasha Cobbs. For a full list of nominees, see the list here: 46th Annual Dove Award Nominees

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers held its 28th annual Rhythm and Soul Awards honoring the songwriters and publishers of the most performed songs on the charts.
In the Gospel category, top honors went to Bart Millard for I Can Only Imagine (as recorded by Tamela Mann). Other award recipients include Smokie Norful (who performed his composition No Greater Love during the evening), William McDowell for Withholding Nothing, Erica Campbell for Help and David Bratton for Every Praise (as recorded by Bishop Hezekiah Walker). The blessings keep flowing on Tamela Mann. This Place, the current single from her Best Days CD takes its place and marks the third consecutive number 1 single on the Billboard Gospel Radio chart. Her fist single, Take Me to the King, penned by Kirk Franklin held on to the top spot on the Gospel radio chart for 24 weeks easily earning gold certification from the RIAA and is well on its way to platinum status. The second single, I Can Only Imagine spent 13 weeks at #1 and also received an RIAA gold certification.

Many are familiar with Jonathan Dunn as pastor and worship leader, but most know the Cincinnati native via the prolific songs he has written for his own projects and those for Byron Cage, Amber Bullock, Tamela Mann and Marvin Sapp. On June 9th, the world awaits to hear the release of Keep My Mind. The new EP features more of the distinctly anointed and life changing music that has flowed from his pen including a re release of Oil from his 2004 Another Level CD.

“Welllll….I hope everybody is in the spirit tonight. We’re bringing some church to the White House!” were President Obama’s opening remarks for the White House Gospel Music Celebration last Tuesday. Held in the East Wing of the White House, which was converted into a concert venue, President Barack, First Lady Michelle Obama, and invited guests were entertained by some of the nation’s premiere Christian and Gospel artists. Among the list of performers included: Pastor Shirley Caesar, Rance Allen, tamela Mann, Rodney Crowell, Darlene Love, the Morgan State University Choir, Emmylou Harris, Lyle Lovett and Aretha Franklin. ABC’s Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts served as Mistress of Ceremonies. The show is scheduled to air on PBS and TV One on June 26th. Bishop Rance Allen, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Tamela Mann and others join Aretha Franklin and the Morgan State University Choir for “The Gospel Tradition: In Performance at the White House”. The hour long program celebrates the rich history of Gospel music and its impact on other music genres and will air on PBS and TV One on June 26th.
“The gospel tradition, which has its roots in the African-American community, has lifted up so many, promising hope whether through the everyday travails of life or some of our nation’s most turbulent times,” noted Brad Siegel, president of TV One. “We’re proud to be partners with WETA and public broadcasting in celebrating this uniquely American institution at the White House and with the American public.”

awrence, Fred Hammond, and more for Billboard #1 Gospel Hits, a 2 disc set hitting stores on January 13th.
The set of 20 songs includes Kirk Franklin’s “I Smile,” Hezekiah Walker’s “Every Praise,” Tamela Mann’s “I Can Only Imagine,” andVaShawn Mitchell’s “Nobody Greater” and is available in stores as well as on digital outlets.

The nominees for the Soul Train Music Awards were announced on Monday, October 13th. Talk show maven Wendy Williams will serve as the host for this year’s festivities. The Soul Train Awards 2014 show will be taped in Las Vegas, NV on Friday, November 7, 2014, and air on CENTRIC and BET on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 8 pm ET/PT.

It was a memorable evening as the 45th Annual GMA Dove Awards were held at the Lipscomb Arena in Nashville on October 7th. Among the night’s honors, Erica Campbell took home the Traditional Gospel Song Award for A Little More Jesus, Every Praise garnered the award for Contemporary Urban Gospel Song for Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Tamela Mann took home a statue for Gospel Performance of the Year, Donnie McClurkin won Traditional Gospel Album and Tye Tribbett won Contemporary Gospel Album.
The Dove Awards telecast can be seen on the TBN Network on Sunday, October 12th.
