Lisa Knowles & The Brown Singers Continue The Evolution

Monday, March 17th, 2014

Lisa Knowles has proven to be a musical force to be reckoned with but doesn’t like to be categorized.  “I’ve always been labeled as one thing,” says Knowles when it comes to defining her style and place “Oh, she’sBrown Singers just a quartet singer or she’s just a churchy singer, but there are so many layers to me. I’m just showcasing what God gave me. People ask how I categorize myself and I say: I don’t know. I’m just Lisa.”

Knowles and her group, The Brown Singers are ready to make another mark with the release of their latest effort, The Evolution Continues from Zantino Kimmons’ One Voice Media label with distribution from Central South.  While the project delivers on traditional quartet, there’s a lot of musical variety in store, including a cover of LaShun Pace’s He’s Able.  All in all, its 11 tracks of undeniably great gospel music produced by Marque Walker.
