The Glory Album Hits Billboard R & B Chart

The Ohio based writer/singer and producer continues to amaze and wow audiences with stellar performances this month including opening for the BET Honors awards show and being named among ESPN’s Music Artists of The Month.

Christon Gray Talks To GOSPELflava

CG_GLORY_FINAL_300Columbus, Ohio based writer, singer, rapper, and producer Christon Gray shared a moment with GOSPELflava to talk about the release of his second solo project The Glory Album, the success of WLAK and joining the Fo Yo Soul family.  Here’s what he had to say:

GOSPELflava: Hey Christon, it seems that this new album is causing a bit of a buzz.  How would you define this project?

Christon Gray: Well, I’m not ashamed to say I think the album is good. It’s an album that doesnt just fit in one category.  The record dropped on Friday,March 11th and since then,  I’m hearing all sorts of positive feedback, people are overwhelming me with how much they love the album, it was sitting at the top of the R & B/Soul charts on iTunes for the first 3 days of its release and  number 10 overall as well as charting on the Christian and Gospel charts , so its been encouraging to see that. The concept of the album is Chris continuing his story from School of Roses and also just trying to find my place in God’s glory and the glory He has to reveal in me, so that journey from glory to glory is what you hear in the album. Christon Gray Set To Release The Glory Album

CG_GLORY_FINAL_300Mark your calendars for March 11th as Christon Gray releases his second solo project, The Glory Album on Kirk Franklin’s Fo Yo Soul label.  The multi talented rapper, singer, songwriter and producer topped the Billboard Gospel chart as a member of WLAK (We Live As Kings) with their self titled debut in 2013 followed by School of Roses,  his premiere solo album charting in the top 5 on Billboard’s R & B chart in 2014.

“Christon is one of the most exciting, young voices in urban music today,” says Kirk Franklin.  “We are thrilled to be able to partner with him to cultivate his influence in the flourishing Christian Hip Hop market and to expand his platform into the mainstream.”
