Eight Dove Award Nominations For Motown Gospel

Timmy BowmanMotown Gospel was well represented during the nominees announcement for the for the 47th Annual Dove Awards.  Tasha Cobbs received four nominations for her One Place Live CD, including Gospel Artist of the Year and Urban Worship Album of the Year She also picked up nominations for Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year “Put A Praise On It,” and Urban Worship Recorded Song of the Year “Fill Me Up.” 

John P. Kee, received two nominations for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year and Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for “Level Next.” 

The remaining two nominations for the label went to Janice Gaines and Lifestyle Music’s Tim Bowman Jr. who were both nominated in the Contemporary Gospel/Urban Recorded Song of the Year for “Wait On You,” and “I’m Good”

Tim Bowman Bows At #1 On Billboard

TimBowmanJr_LISTEN_COVERTim Bowman Jr. celebrates his debut release Listen as it makes its entry at #1 on the Billboard Gospel albums chart.  The CD, produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkinson his Lifestyle Music Group label was heavily fueled by the radio single, I’m Good.

Bowman had this to say: “I can’t put it into words how this moment feels! My very first #1 album! It’s been a long road but now, more importantly than anything; the world can begin to hear what we have been working on! God is great!”

Jerkins echoed with his sentiments: “Listen is an incredible album from start to finish. We wanted to create a project that transcends a single genre, and we put our passion and heart into it and gave it to God.”

When you’re part of a musical family, the expectation of strong music potential can run high, fortunately with the case of Tim Bowman, Jr., we can rest easy. The son of noteTimmy Bowmand guitarist Tim Bowman, the younger introduced the saints to “sanctified scat” with his appearance on his aunt Vickie Winans’ smash hit, How I Got Over.  That was followed by the release of his independent CD in 2010 featuring Beautiful, which made its way into the top ten.  Bowman’s signing with Rodney Jerkins Lifestyle Music Group/Motown Gospel just gets us in gear for great things to happen.

The first radio single I’m Good, written by Jhonte Austin and produced by Jerkins shows a mature and modern sound for Bowman.  The single has been serviced to radio and Bowman will make appearances in support of its release.

Tim BoTim Bowmanwman, Jr. never ceases to amaze.  He introduced the saints to “sanctified scat” with his appearance on his aunt Vickie Winans’ smash hit, How I Got Over.  That was followed by the release of his independent CD in 2010 featuring Beautiful, which made its way into the top ten.  We now have confirmation that the music will keep going with the announcement of Bowman’s label deal with Rodney Jerkins as the first gospel artist signed to Jerkins’ new Evolve Music Group imprint.
